I have to enter into the situation, a number of laptops, something that reliably convert their input signals on a widescreen video component connected. Who says that the VGA cable component is replaced by automatic FAIL.

And of course the corresponding cable. This is an example. Search for "VGA to component converter. There are VGA to component cables, but that does not always, as the H and V sync are often separated by a VGA to send and usually in the green signal component integrated.
